Linkin Park Welcomes Emily Armstrong of Dead Sara as New Vocalist, Announces New Album ‘From Zero’ and Global Tour

Linkin Park Selects Emily Armstrong From Rock Band Dead Sara as New Singer, Reveals Tour and Album ‘From Zero’

In a thrilling announcement, Linkin Park revealed that Emily Armstrong, lead singer of rock band Dead Sara, will be joining the iconic group as their new co-vocalist. The news came during a special live event on Thursday, where the band also announced that Colin Brittain—songwriter and producer for G Flip, Illenium, and One OK Rock—will step in as their new drummer.

The surprise reveal was accompanied by the release of a brand-new single, “The Emptiness Machine,” marking the band’s first music release in seven years. The single serves as the lead track for their upcoming album “From Zero,” set to drop on November 15 via Warner Records. This will be Linkin Park's first full-length album since 2017’s “One More Light,” which was released just two months before the tragic passing of lead vocalist Chester Bennington.

The new lineup features longtime members Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Phoenix, and Joe Hahn, alongside Armstrong and Brittain. To celebrate this new chapter, the band will embark on a six-city arena tour, with stops in Los Angeles, New York, Hamburg, London, Seoul, and Bogota.

Fans who attended the Los Angeles performance on Thursday were treated to an exclusive experience, with buses transporting them to a private studio lot. The event was also livestreamed and will be available for viewing on Linkin Park’s official channels for the next 24 hours.

In a press release, the band shared that Shinoda, Delson, Phoenix, and Hahn had been quietly meeting over the past few years. Rather than trying to “restart the band,” they experimented with various musicians before discovering a special connection with Armstrong and Brittain.

Reflecting on the band’s journey, Mike Shinoda explained, “Before Linkin Park, our first band name was Xero. The album title ‘From Zero’ refers both to our humble beginnings and the new chapter we’re entering now. Sonically and emotionally, this album is about the past, present, and future—embracing our signature sound but injecting it with new life. It was made with deep appreciation for our new and longtime bandmates, our friends, family, and fans. We’re proud of what Linkin Park has become and excited for what lies ahead.”

“The Emptiness Machine” is described as embodying the essence of Linkin Park’s signature sound, with Shinoda stating that the band feels “empowered” with the new lineup and “energized” by the fresh music they’ve created together. He emphasized that while they are honoring the sonic touchpoints that have defined Linkin Park, they are also pushing boundaries and exploring new musical directions.

With the announcement of both the album and tour, it’s clear that Linkin Park is entering an exciting new era, and fans around the world are eagerly awaiting what’s next from the beloved rock band.
