Nicole Kidman recently shared some unexpected insights about her latest project, the erotic drama "Babygirl." At 57, the award-winning actress revealed that filming the movie became so intense that she had to pause production temporarily.

In "Babygirl," Kidman takes on the role of a successful business executive who jeopardizes her career and family for a passionate affair with a younger intern, played by 28-year-old Harris Dickinson, known for his role in “Where the Crawdads Sing.” The film also stars Antonio Banderas, who portrays her husband.

The Oscar-winning actress admitted that some of the steamy scenes in the movie became overwhelming, especially the moments where she had to simulate intimacy. "There were times I just felt like I couldn't go on," Kidman told The Sun. "I reached a point where I thought, ‘I don’t want to do this anymore. It was exhausting, and I just needed a break.'"

The star explained that although she has extensive experience with intimate scenes throughout her career—including memorable moments in films like Eyes Wide Shut—the intensity of Babygirl was at a whole new level. Her portrayal of Romy, a powerful CEO exploring a newfound desire for BDSM during an affair, has been praised as one of her most daring performances to date.

Kidman admitted that the graphic nature of the movie led to moments of discomfort on set. “There was a lot of trust and sharing involved during filming, but also a lot of frustration," she said. "I got to a point where I didn't want to continue simulating those scenes. It felt almost like burnout, and I remember thinking, 'I’m done with this!'”

Despite the challenges, Kidman's portrayal of Romy has received glowing reviews, highlighting her ability to dive deep into complex characters. She confessed that the film's storyline had initially captivated her: "The script was intriguing—it had elements that were both humorous and captivating, and I found myself drawn to it.”

Kidman’s dedication to the role, even amid moments of difficulty, showcases her continued commitment to bringing challenging and bold stories to life. Babygirl is set to be a highlight in her illustrious career, pushing the boundaries of her acting abilities and captivating audiences with its raw, unfiltered portrayal of desire and power dynamics.
